It's dessert mash-up time!

Tres Leches and Arroz con Leche are two classic Latin American desserts.

Tres Leches (which means "three milks" in Spanish) is essentially a cake soaked in three kinds of milk: evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream -- it also packs quite a sweet punch. Arroz con Leche is rice pudding. Each country’s variations of the two dishes have a different twist.

This Tres Leches Rice Pudding mash-up combines the Venezuelan version of both desserts.

It can be eaten warm or cold as a mid-afternoon snack.  ¡Buen provecho!

  1. Cook the rice as usual (using the 1/2 cups of water), and drop in the two cinnamon sticks.
  2. In a saucepan, place the milk, sugar and egg yolks and cook in high heat until the mix comes to a boil.
  3. Add the condensed milk and cream, and maintain at a high temperature until the mixture boils again. Once it does, add the rice and raisins.
  4. Continue cooking over low heat for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve in a baking dish, and allow it to cool down for approximately 30 minutes. Garnish with a dash of cinnamon before serving.
