Spicy Garlic Guacamole With Sriracha

It’s always fun to get a little creative with food for a party. Try this spicy twist on a classic guacamole recipe at your next get-together.

One of my favorite dishes to prepare is guacamole. It’s quick, easy and there are so many variations you can try! For this recipe, I sautéed the onions, chile peppers and garlic. I really like the slightly roasted flavor it adds to the guacamole, and it results in a more mild flavor of onion and garlic.

  1. Heat the oil to medium heat in sauté pan. Add the onions, garlic and serrano chile. Season lightly with salt and pepper and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until the onions starts to brown a little. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Add the mashed avocados to bowl. Add the lemon juice, 1/2 of the cilantro, salt and pepper to taste. Add in the onion mixture, stir well to combine and taste for salt.
  3. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with the cherry tomatoes and remaining cilantro. Drizzle with Sriracha hot sauce and serve with chips!

Chef Notes

Add in a little crumbled feta cheese and smoked paprika for some added smoky flavor with the salty bite of the cheese.
