Canelazo is a spicy hot drink traditionally made and consumed in the highlands of Ecuador. This non-alcoholic Canelazo Mocktail is just as cozy as the original recipe! 

 

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups brown sugar
  • 5 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 cup tangerine juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 limes
  • slices tangerine for garnish

Directions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a medium sized pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 35 - 40 minutes.
  2. Remove the cinnamon sticks. Serve immediately.

Chef Notes

If you are in a hurry, you can boil the ingredients together for 10-15 minutes and you will get a similar flavored drink.
