Christmas is around the corner and the last minute gift madness begins! Let's be honest, sometimes homemade Christmas gifts are the nicest and most thoughtful ways to show our love, but we don't always have the time to make them.
That's why I chose to show you how to make two presents that anyone would love to receive. You can probably make these with materials you have lying around the house: a mug with all the ingredients to make a chocolate lava mug cake, and a jar with all the ingredients to make a very rich hot chocolate.
These are the most requested recipes on my YouTube channel right now, because they are not only delicious, but really easy to make.

Ingredients
- Chocolate Mug Cake
- 1 microwavable mug
- 3 tablespoons no sugar added cocoa
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 handful chocolate chips
- 1 transparent cookie gift bag
- 2 Christmas ribbons.
- Holiday gift tags
- DIY Hot Chocolate Gift
- 1 Mason jar
- no sugar added cocoa
- brown sugar
- Christmas chocolate candy (like M&M's)
- Small marshmallows.
- 1 Candy cane

Directions
Chocolate Mug Cake
- Preparation time: 5 minutes. In the mug, place the dry ingredients only: chocolate, sugar and flour. Place the mug into your gift bag, close it with the ribbon.
- Write the recipe instructions on the gift tag: Mix all these ingredients together with 1 egg, 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 3 tablespoons of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Don’t forget to clarify that this is a mug cake, so they don’t get confused and think it's a hot chocolate. Also note that the cup needs to be microwaved on high for 3 minutes only.
DIY Hot Chocolate Gift
- Preparation time: 2 minutes. Layer all your ingredients in the jar, one by one without mixing them, in this order: chocolate, sugar, candy and marshmallows.
- In the gift tag write your instructions: Remove the marshmallows and pour hot water or milk into the jar. Stir with candy cane and top with marshmallows to make this very delicious and rich treat!
