Caramel meets chocolate heaven with these Brazillian brigadeiros. Fudge balls have never been so fun!
There are tons of things to love about Brazil, but my favorite dish is definitely brigadeiros. They are beautiful, delicious fudge balls that are absolutely addicting! I like to make them on Halloween or even during the holidays. I dress the brigadeiros up in fun sprinkles or in shredded coconut. The best part - you'll be in shock at how easy they are to make.
2cans condensed milk 14-ounce
1/2cup baking cocoa powder
4Tbsp unsalted butter softened, plus extra to grease plate and hands
Mix condensed milk and cocoa powder until there are no lumps in the mix. Stir in the softened butter.
Place the mixture on a non-stick saucepan over medium-low heat for about 7 minutes, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. The fudge mix should cover the bottom of the pan for a second before the mixture levels out again - that means it's ready.
Remove from stove, mix in the vanilla.
Allow to cool. Once at room temperate, grease your hands a little bit with butter, and begin to roll them into balls. Each ball should be 1 tablespoon. Then, softly roll each ball in chocolate sprinkles, coconut powder or any sprinkle of your choice. Place in a bonbon paper cup. Enjoy!
If your fudge consistency does not allow you to roll these into balls, don't worry! You can serve them in little shot glasses with spoons, like they do in Brazil. You could also cook an additional 5 minutes until it thickens up more.
