Ingredients

  • 1 hass avocado Ripe, fresh
  • 1 6-ounce tuna fillet sushi-grade
  • 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 bamboo skewers
  • 1/2 cup ginger soy dipping sauce

Directions

  1. Cut tuna in bite-sized squares and coat top and bottom with sesame seeds.
  2. Heat olive oil in a sauté pan. Place tuna sesame seed side down first and cook for 30 seconds then turn over on other sesame seed side, cooking for 30 seconds. Place on plate to let cool.
  3. Seed and peel avocado. Cut into bite-size squares. Stick each bamboo skewer through one avocado square and one tuna square.
  4. Arrange on a plate with dipping sauce and serve.

Chef Notes

Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.
