I’m a Honduran-born, bilingual Culinary Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I earned my degree in Nutrition, Food Studies and Public Health from New York University and completed a Dietetic Internship through Syracuse University.
My main focus within the nutrition field are healthy cooking and health promotion. I am working on these issues through the implementation of nutrition education modules, nutrition counseling, recipe development, cooking demonstrations and food and nutrition-related articles.
I am a strong believer that we can reduce the risks of many chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure by gaining basic competency in the kitchen, developing a healthy relationship with food, as well learning about basic sound nutrition information. I also believe in appreciating the foods, ingredients and cooking methods that reflect one’s culture.
