I’m a wife and mom of four, and I have loved to cook for as long as I can remember. My earliest childhood memories are of watching my abuelitos prepare homemade Sonoran-style flour tortillas, shredded pork tamales, and pork chile colorado al estilo Chihuahua. In the fall of 2000, I moved from sunny southern California to my husband’s hometown in the state of Jalisco, where my love of Mexican food, tradition, and culture has continued to grow. My food blog, La Cocina de Leslie is a collection of the traditional Mexican recipes I’ve learned to make over the years and the Mexican-inspired meals I prepare every day in my kitchen for my family. And I recently authored a cookbook titled, Taquería Tacos: A Taco Cookbook to Bring the Flavors of Mexico Home.
