Slow Down the Aging Process with This Herb

Basil is a staple ingredient in many delicious Italian dishes, but it actually originated in Southeast Asia, Africa and India. In fact, basil has been promoted as a youth-preserving herb for centuries by the Ayurveda (Indian system of natural healing). Its phytonutrients have scientifically been proven to slow down aging!

There are many varieties of the herb, but only a few are used for culinary purposes:

Grow it at home. Still want more Basil in your life? The herb can be easily grown at home as long as it is watered frequently, is kept warm and doesn’t flower. If you buy it fresh from the market, the stems must be firm and the leaves green without black marks for it to be successfully grown at home. However, if you are not ready to start a DIY greenhouse, keep in mind that dried basil lacks the minty aroma but has a higher concentration of youth-promoting chemicals and minerals than fresh basil.
