The inspiration for this drink is the prickly pear fruit, also known as nopal fruit.
Recipe adapted from mixologist Jason Asher of Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa.
Yields 1 serving
1 tablespoon prickly pear and jalapeno jam
2 ounces silver tequila
1 ounce lime juice
¾ ounce agave syrup
Place ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake for 6 seconds. Serve in a margarita glass.
