¾ cup sugar
1 can condensed milk
1 cup whole milk
3 large eggs
3 slices of bread, crust removed
8 ozs. cream cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 teaspoons melted butter
1. Heat sugar until it melts and begins to acquire an amber color. Pour into round baking mold (8” a 10”). Quickly and carefully shake the mold until the caramel covers the bottom and partially the sides.
2. In a blender or food processor, mix all the ingredients. Pour mixture into the mold. Place in water bath (bain Marie) and bake at 325ºF for 75 minutes or until firm. Check doneness by sticking in a toothpick. If it comes out clean, the flan is ready.
3. Let cool and refrigerate. Carefully remove flan from mold.
